Role: Project Manager (Agile) - Public Sector Programme

Location: Basingstoke, UK

Working Pattern: On-site, 5 days per week

Day Rate: 500 per day (Inside IR35)

Contract Length: 6 months (with high likelihood of extension)

Clearance Requirement: SC Clearance required Prior to work starting

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in Agile methodologies to join a critical public sector programme. This role is delivered via a major, well-regarded service provider and offers an exciting opportunity to impact central government or defence projects. This programme involves complex stakeholder engagement and collaboration to drive meaningful, high-priority outcomes for the public sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Agile Project Management: Lead end-to-end project delivery using Agile principles, ensuring efficient workflows and effective communication across cross-functional teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining strong, transparent communication and building partnerships that support project objectives.
  • Delivery Oversight: Track progress, manage risk, and ensure project milestones are achieved within set timeframes, budget, and quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion Agile practices, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and adaptive delivery methods.

Candidate Profile:

  • The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of Agile frameworks, along with practical experience in public sector or defence projects. You should be comfortable with the complexities of government or defence delivery, and capable of managing multiple stakeholder priorities.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager on public sector, central government, or defence projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Agile methodologies, with experience adapting these principles within structured environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly within high-stakes, multi-party government projects.
  • SC Clearance is required for this role; applicants must already hold or be eligible for SC Clearance.
