Summary: The Agile Delivery Manager at the British Red Cross will lead agile transformation efforts, guiding teams to adopt practices that enhance their performance and delivery. This role extends beyond traditional Scrum Master duties, focusing on strategic leadership, continuous improvement, and coaching for organizational agility. The position requires strong facilitation and interpersonal skills to foster effective collaboration among teams and stakeholders. The Agile Delivery Manager will ensure the consistent delivery of customer-focused software while maintaining a prioritized product backlog.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide teams through agile transformation, adapting practices to their specific context.
  • Facilitate organizational conversations about agile values, principles, and practices.
  • Ensure consistent, sustainable delivery of working software that provides customer value.
  • Work with Product Owners and stakeholders to maintain a clear, prioritized product backlog.
  • Facilitate Scrum events (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives).
  • Lead retrospectives and facilitate action-oriented discussions about team effectiveness.

Key Skills:

  • Deep understanding of agile values, principles, and frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to build effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues, customers, and partners.
  • Strong experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach with demonstrable results.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading agile teams through complex software delivery.
  • Experience with agile metrics and reporting tools.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent Agile certification.
  • Experience of working with Salesforce and/or Dynamics or other CRMs.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.

Agile Delivery Manager

Location: London, Moorgate or UK flexible (Hybrid, home & office)

Salary: £51,658 to £55,829 per annum, pro rata (plus ILW, if residing & working in London)

Hours: 35 per week, Flexible (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm)

Contract: Permanent, Fixed term contract x18 months (to Summer 2027)

Could you go beyond the traditional Scrum Master responsibilities to encompass strategic delivery leadership, continuous improvement advocacy, and organisational agility coaching?

To be a successful Agile Delivery Manager, what will you need?

  • Ability to build effective and strong interpersonal relationships - relates easily and effectively to colleagues, customers and partners.
