Agile Delivery Manager - Contract - BPSS Cleared

We are seeking an Agile Delivery Manager to join the Digital Forms engagement, working alongside the Senior Delivery Manager to coordinate and deliver change across multiple multidisciplinary teams.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced Agile Delivery Manager with experience of User Centred Design (UCD) environments and agile delivery practices. You will be responsible for ensuring work is delivered effectively across two squads comprising Business Analysts, Content Designers, Interaction Designers and User Researchers.

As there are no dedicated Scrum Masters within the service, the Agile Delivery Manager will also perform Scrum Master responsibilities, facilitating delivery ceremonies, removing impediments and supporting continuous improvement within teams. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills, delivery leadership and the ability to coordinate multiple concurrent change initiatives whilst maintaining a strong focus on user outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery across multiple multidisciplinary Agile squads.
  • Plan, coordinate and track delivery of change requests, enhancements and new digital journeys.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives and reviews.
  • Remove blockers and manage dependencies impacting delivery.
  • Coordinate cross-team planning and Scrum of Scrums activities.
  • Support quarterly planning and release management activities.
  • Maintain visibility of delivery progress, risks and issues.

User-Centred Design Delivery

  • Work closely with User Researchers, Content Designers, Interaction Designers and Business Analysts.
  • Ensure delivery decisions are informed by user needs and research insights.
  • Support effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Promote user-centred and evidence-based delivery practices.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and wider Digital Platform teams.
  • Provide regular progress updates and delivery reporting.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations regarding scope, delivery timelines and priorities.
  • Support governance and planning activities across the Digital Forms service.

Team Leadership and Coaching

  • Coach teams in Agile ways of working.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
  • Support onboarding of new team members.
  • Encourage continuous improvement and learning.
  • Support wider delivery management activities across the engagement.

Governance and Planning

  • Maintain delivery roadmaps and plans.
  • Manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.
  • Ensure agreed governance processes are followed.
  • Support impact assessments and change planning activities.
  • Contribute to planning and Statement of Work development where required.

Deputy Responsibilities

  • Deputise for the Senior Delivery Manager when required.
  • Support wider engagement activities and strategic discussions.
  • Represent the Digital Forms team in relevant forums and meetings.

Essential Skills and Experience

Agile Delivery Management:

Experience delivering digital products or services using Agile methodologies.

Strong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban and iterative delivery approaches.

Experience coordinating delivery across multidisciplinary teams.

Ability to facilitate Agile ceremonies and drive continuous improvement.

User-Centred Design

  • Experience working in a User Centred Design environment.
  • Understanding of the roles of:
  • User Researchers
  • Content Designers
  • Interaction Designers
  • Business Analysts
  • Appreciation of how user needs and research inform delivery decisions.

Stakeholder Management

  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience managing priorities, expectations and dependencies.

Delivery Governance

  • Experience managing risks, issues and delivery plans.
  • Ability to provide concise and accurate delivery reporting.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience delivering services aligned to GDS principles and standards.
  • Experience within government or public sector organisations.
  • Experience working with Jira and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design principles.
  • Experience working in large-scale digital transformation environments.
  • Understanding of DevOps and product-centric delivery models.
