Summary: We are seeking an experienced Agile Delivery Lead with expertise in GDS principles to guide cross-functional teams through the Discovery and Alpha phases of service development in the public sector. The role involves ensuring GDS-compliant delivery, fostering agile best practices, and managing stakeholder relationships to deliver impactful services. This position offers the opportunity to lead user-centered, iterative delivery across multiple digital projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agile methodologies and public sector experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead digital service delivery aligned with GDS service standards.
- Prepare for and guide teams through GDS service assessments.
- Embed GDS principles across all delivery activities.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies (stand-ups, retrospectives, sprint planning).
- Drive continuous improvement and high team performance.
- Remove impediments and create a culture of collaboration.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate project progress, risks, and decisions with clarity.
- Align delivery with business priorities while keeping user needs central.
- Promote data-driven decision-making and a test and learn approach.
- Ensure services are regularly iterated based on user feedback and metrics.
- Drive service readiness for GDS assessments and support transition phases.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Ensure governance and compliance with GDS and organizational standards.
Key Skills:
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
- Experience delivering services aligned to GDS principles, with a track record of passing GDS service assessments.
- Ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary digital teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working with UK government departments or public bodies (preferred).
- Skilled at navigating delivery challenges in complex environments.
