Agentic AI Engineer

Role Description

We are seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Senior Agentic AI Engineers to join cross-functional delivery squads and help scale an enterprise-grade Agentic AI platform. The successful candidate will have deep expertise designing, building, deploying, and operating production AI agents on the Google Cloud ecosystem, leveraging Google ADK, Vertex AI Agent Engine (Gemini Agent Platform), and Gemini models.

Key Responsibilities

• Agentic AI Engineering
• Design, develop, and deploy production-grade AI agents using:
• Google ADK
• Vertex AI Agent Engine (Gemini Agent Platform)
• Gemini Models
• Implement multi-agent and tool-augmented agent architectures.
• Develop robust agent orchestration, memory, reasoning, and workflow automation capabilities.
• Integrate agents with enterprise systems, APIs, and business workflows.
• Design and implement agent guardrails, safety controls, and governance frameworks.
• Production Engineering
• Build scalable, resilient, and secure AI solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
• Implement monitoring, observability, tracing, and operational dashboards for AI agents.
• Develop agent evaluation frameworks, performance metrics, and testing strategies.
• Optimize prompt engineering, model performance, response quality, latency, and operational costs.
• Apply MLOps and DevSecOps best practices to agent lifecycle management.

Required Skills & Experience

• Essential
• Proven experience delivering production AI agents on Google Cloud.
• Deep expertise in:
• Google ADK
• Vertex AI Agent Engine (Gemini Agent Platform)
• Gemini Models
• Agent evaluation frameworks
• Agent observability and monitoring
• AI safety guardrails and governance
• Strong Python software engineering experience.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale Agentic AI architectures.
• Hands-on experience deploying workloads to GKE.
• Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise systems and APIs.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and microservices.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Preferred
• Java and Quarkus development experience.
• Experience with contact centre technology platforms.
• Experience with ApigeeX policies and controls.
• Knowledge of BigQuery, Apigee, and Harness CI/CD.
• Experience with regulated industries such as banking or financial services.
• Understanding of Responsible AI and AI governance frameworks.

Experience Level

Senior/Lead Engineer (8+ years software engineering, 2+ years cloud-native development, demonstrable production experience with Google Agentic AI stack).
