Summary: The Agency Substance Misuse Nurse role in Birmingham offers an immediate start for Registered Nurses specializing in substance misuse services. Key Responsibilities:
- Complete CIWA assessments and alcohol withdrawal monitoring.
- Undertake venepuncture and blood collection.
- Perform ECGs.
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and reviews.
- Support alcohol detoxification and treatment programmes.
- Deliver BBV screening, vaccinations and health promotion interventions.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records.
- Liaise with recovery workers, prescribers and wider multidisciplinary teams.
- Promote positive outcomes and recovery-focused care.
Key Skills:
- Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with active NMC registration.
- Experience taking bloods (venepuncture).
- Experience completing CIWA assessments.
- Competent in performing ECGs.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Full right to work in the UK.
- Ability to start within a short timeframe.

Are you a Registered Nurse looking for an immediate start within substance misuse services? We are recruiting for an Agency Substance Misuse Nurse to join a well-established and award-winning addictions service in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a specialist clinical team supporting individuals through alcohol and drug recovery programmes while making a genuine difference to people's lives.
This Agency Substance Misuse Nurse opportunity is available on an initial 3-month contract and would suit an RGN or RMN with strong assessment skills and experience undertaking bloods, CIWA assessments and ECGs.
The Role
As an Agency Substance Misuse Nurse, you will provide frontline clinical care to service users accessing specialist drug and alcohol treatment services. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care throughout the recovery journey.
