Summary: The Actuarial Systems Specialist (GIECA Systems) role involves supporting the development and maintenance of the Group's economic actuarial systems, particularly the Internal Capital Model (ICM) and related reporting tools. This position requires technical expertise to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of system enhancements and ongoing support. The specialist will collaborate with IT teams, external vendors, and business users to resolve issues and implement improvements. The role is a 2-3 month contract based in London with hybrid working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of GIECA systems, including coding, testing, and documentation of ICM components and reporting tools
- Responsible for the end-to-end development of these systems, including gathering requirements, coordinating the design and build, ensuring adequate testing is performed, documentation is produced, and end-user adoption is complete
- Perform system testing, including reviewing System Integration Testing (SIT) and results, and ensure components meet quality standards before release
- Coordinate and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate functionality and compliance with requirements
- Assist in implementing new models for internal economic capital metrics, including prototyping, testing, and production deployment
- Liaise with IT and software vendors to resolve technical issues promptly and maintain agreed service levels
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes for system access
Key Skills:
- Partly qualified actuary or equivalent experience with a minimum of three years' relevant work experience
- Strong technical skills and problem-solving ability, with experience delivering solutions in production environments
- Insurance industry experience
- Knowledge of GIECA, Solvency II, HK RBC, or equivalent capital regimes
- Proficiency in programming languages such as VBA, C#, MATLAB, Python
- Familiarity with RAFM is an advantage
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively under pressure with multiple competing demands
