Summary: The ACE Study Skills Apprenticeship is a home-based, fixed-term contract role focused on supporting learners in their academic skills development. The position involves delivering engaging tutorials and resources, monitoring learner progress, and fostering positive relationships within the Academic Community of Excellence (ACE) team. The role also includes responsibilities as a Personal Tutor, ensuring quality assurance in academic programs. This position is designed to enhance the educational experience of students through effective teaching and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and creative learning to meet the needs of the learner
- Plan, prepare and deliver effective one-to-one tutorials and drop-in sessions
- Develop learning support materials and resources for face-to-face and online use
- Keep accurate tutorial records to monitor learner progress and achievement
- Liaise with staff and attend meetings to enhance student experience
- Organise and promote ACE at QA events
- Build positive relationships with ACE team colleagues and stakeholders
- Act as a Personal Tutor providing guidance and support to students
- Meet partnership and internal quality assurance processes
Key Skills:
- Post Graduate Qualification (Master’s/DELTA or equivalent)
- Experience of delivering one-to-one academic tutorials both face-to-face and online
- DA skills tutor experience (desirable)
- Relevant teaching qualification HEA or demonstrated teaching experience
- Expertise in subject area in English for academic purposes
