Summary: The role of Interim Accounts Payable Manager involves overseeing the accounts payable function for a UK-based jewellery business during a 16-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will manage vendor relationships, ensure timely invoice processing, and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations. This position requires immediate availability and a proactive approach to efficiency and relationship-building within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of the day-to-day running of the Accounts Payable function.
  • Oversee the receiving, validating, and processing of vendor invoices.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices through various methods.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, negotiate payment terms, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and local/federal laws.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
  • Prepare and analyse accounts payable reports, including aging reports, cash flow projections, and vendor performance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records of accounts payable transactions.
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes for accounts payable.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls over accounts payable to ensure accuracy and security.
