Summary: Vertex Associates is seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant for a London-based build and design business on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role requires full-time office attendance for initial training, transitioning to a hybrid model of three days in the office per week. Key responsibilities include managing invoices, expense claims, and maintaining financial relationships within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all invoices (including subcontractors) are distributed, coded and approved in line with policy
  • Deal with staff expense claims and corporate credit cards
  • Handle emails and queries from suppliers and the wider business
  • Produce weekly and manual sub-contractor and expense payment runs as requested
  • Complete statement, balance sheet and expense reconciliations
  • Accurate data entry, including manual supplier invoice entry, manual supplier credit notes and daily banking
  • Comply with all existing KPI’s and SLA’s
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships within finance and the wider business

Key Skills:

  • At least 3 years’ experience within an Accounts Payable role
  • Confident and assertive interpersonal skills from senior management to external suppliers
  • Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all financial and team deadlines are met, within a fast-paced environment
  • Accurate and exceptional attention to detail
  • Pro-active, with the ability to use initiative and work autonomously and as part of a wider team
  • Team player who deals effectively with colleagues and clients
  • Willing to learn/actively pursue further training
  • Good IT skills especially on Excel (V look ups and pivot tables)
  • Experience of SAP would be advantageous, but not essential
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing

Vertex Associates are proud to be partnering with a London based build and design business in hiring an Accounts Payable Assistant on a 12 month fixed term contract. There will be a requirement to attend the office full time for training purposes (first 6-8 weeks), before moving to a hybrid position consisting of 3 days per week in the office.
