Summary: The Accounts Payable Assistant will be responsible for executing accounts payable transactions with precision and timeliness, ensuring high-quality service to both internal and external customers. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to escalate queries as necessary. The candidate will also support various financial activities, including invoice processing and reconciliation. This position is hybrid, requiring four days on-site work in Fareham.

Key Responsibilities:

• Match purchase invoices with goods-in documentation and purchase orders.
• Obtain authorization of service invoices and post approved invoices to the purchase ledger.
• Scan documents and prepare month-end accruals.
• Resolve problems arising from purchase invoice activities or refer them to the appropriate person.
• Prepare and process weekly payment runs.
• Support Accounts Receivable with invoice runs and sending out customer statements.
• Reconcile purchase ledger balances to supplier statements and resolve differences.
• Prepare month-end control account reconciliations for the purchase ledger.
• Conduct data cleansing for the SAP transfer.
• Assist other members of the finance team as directed by the Financial Controller.

Key Skills:

• Proven experience in a similar role.
• Computer literate with knowledge of financial and accounting applications.
• Intermediate level knowledge of PC software applications, particularly Excel.
• Experience with Excel functions such as IF statements, Vlookups, Hlookups, and Pivot tables.
• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
• Ability to maintain a high level of service and quality.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision.
