Summary: The Accounts Manager role at a medium-sized accountancy firm in London is a 12-month fixed-term contract aimed at covering maternity leave. The position involves managing a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring effective workflow, and supervising junior staff while contributing to business development. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements and accounts, with a focus on maximizing team efficiencies. Experience with specific accounting software is also preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ownership of a varied portfolio of clients.
- Planning, prioritisation, and allocation of client work to ensure effective team workflow.
- Establishment of scope and budget for client accounts work.
- Preparation or delegation of key client accounts work in line with agreed budget.
- Maximising efficiencies within the team and service line.
- Supervision and training of junior staff.
- Experience with preparing and reviewing FRS 102 Section 1A accounts.
- Supporting business development activities.
- Reviewing management accounts and assisting clients with their accounting needs.
- Preparing and/or reviewing IFRS/FRS101 financial statements.
- Utilising accounting software such as Xero, Silverfin, and Caseware.
Key Skills:
- Experience in managing a client portfolio.
- Strong planning and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to establish budgets and scopes for client work.
- Supervisory and training skills for junior staff.
