Summary: The Accounting & Reporting Lead at Repsol is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely statutory consolidated reporting for the UK Group and legal entities. This role involves overseeing financial reporting activities, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and fostering collaboration across various teams to drive continuous improvement in reporting processes. The position requires strong leadership in managing relationships with stakeholders and ensuring high-quality financial information delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver timely and accurate statutory legal entity reporting, ensuring it is free of material misstatements.
  • Oversee monthly consolidation and reporting, ensuring exceptional quality and adherence to high standards.
  • Keep up to date on regulatory requirements to anticipate impacts on Financial Statements and Statutory Accounts.
  • Guarantee on-time production of materials for Management Team with exceptional quality.
  • Partner with the central team to secure necessary expertise, following the new Repsol standard of working.
  • Foster a robust internal control environment by supporting internal control reviews and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Champion adherence to accounting standards and policies, securing Management approval for any changes.
  • Develop strong working relationships with the group reporting team to facilitate seamless reporting.
  • Lead and support the Joint Venture Accounting group in managing reporting to key stakeholders.
  • Spearhead efforts to secure timely cash receipts from partners and address late payments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate information on financial statements for tax management and planning.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency gains in Group Reporting through collaboration across different teams.
  • Champion continuous improvement in governance and reporting processes.
  • Advocate for team adoption of SAP S4 HANA Public Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud for enhanced reporting.
  • Escalate key financial issues to the Head of Economic, Reporting & Accounting and CFO as needed.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Relevant experience in the Accounting & Reporting domain.
  • Experience in financial reporting, consolidation, and forecasting roles.
  • Understanding of statutory reporting requirements and accounting standards.
  • Experience with SAP S4 HANA or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry preferred.
