Summary: The role of Statutory & Compliance Support Specialist involves providing essential support during high-volume compliance periods, focusing on statutory filings, audit coordination, and GAAP reconciliations across various jurisdictions. The specialist will also engage in tactical finance support for intercompany activities and system implementations. This position requires strong stakeholder management and the ability to operate under tight deadlines while maintaining quality. A proactive approach and extensive experience in statutory compliance and financial reporting are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver accurate statutory filings and supporting schedules across EMEA, APAC, and LATAM; act as a primary point of contact for audit requests and ensure timely resolution of audit queries.
- Manage relationships and day-to-day interactions with Local Service Providers; ensure queries are cleared promptly and documentation is complete.
- Reconcile and bridge US GAAP to local GAAP treatments for multiple jurisdictions; prepare reconciliations, commentary, and journal entries as required.
- Execute intercompany reconciliations, net settlement processes, and other transactional close activities to support month-end and statutory close.
- Support the implementation and UAT of a secondary ledger on NetSuite (or similar ERP); assist with configuration testing, issue logging, and process documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce manual effort and strengthen controls; maintain clear procedure documentation and handover packs.
- Liaise effectively with finance, legal, operations, auditors, regulators, and external providers; provide clear, timely updates and escalate issues when needed.
- Operate with high ownership and responsiveness; manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines while maintaining quality and control.
Key Skills:
- Over 6 years in statutory compliance, financial reporting, or audit support across multiple jurisdictions (EMEA/APAC/LATAM preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and experience reconciling to local GAAPs.
- Practical experience with NetSuite (secondary ledger exposure preferred) or other major ERPs; experience supporting UAT and system rollouts.
- Strong Excel skills; familiarity with financial reporting and reconciliation tools.
- Experience with automation or BI tools is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; proven ability to work with external service providers and auditors.
- Self-starter, highly organized, responsive, able to work under pressure, and comfortable navigating complex multi-entity environments.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Prior experience working across UK, Ireland, US, India jurisdictions.
- Exposure to process automation (Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau) or reconciliation platforms.
