Summary: The role of Accountant involves providing financial management support to a non-profit organization in Belfast City Centre on a temporary basis for a minimum of three months. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Corporate Services to maintain financial systems, prepare management accounts, and liaise with auditors and sponsor departments. This position requires a qualified accountant with significant experience in financial management or accounting within various sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve financial systems and procedures
- Monitor, control, and manage income, expenditure, and bank accounts
- Prepare monthly management accounts, budgetary and variance information, and statutory year-end accounts
- Liaise with Sponsor Departments and internal/external auditors
- Maintain Fixed Asset Register
- Attend Audit & Risk Committees and external meetings as required
- Manage and develop financial management information systems and databases
- Liaise with IT support on IT-related issues
- Manage insurances and participate in risk management procedures
- Provide timely and accurate financial information to management
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial management or management accounting
- Experience in financial accounting or auditing within public, private, voluntary, or community sectors
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity in accounting, finance, or audit
