Summary: The role of Accountant involves supporting a Stirling-based client for an initial 6-month contract, requiring the candidate to work on-site two days a week. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial statements, budgets, and providing financial advice, particularly in a public sector context. A professional accountancy qualification and experience with Oracle ERP are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- To prepare periodic financial monitoring statements that meet the needs of both Service Management and the corporate role of the Accounting Operations function.
- To prepare Revenue and Capital Budgets.
- To support corporate and service-based projects in relation to financial matters associated with those projects.
- To review, maintain and develop financial aspects of financial and information systems.
- To provide and maintain appropriate information and advice relevant to the nature of the post.
- To advise on specialist areas (eg capital, VAT).
- To prepare grant claims, returns and statistics.
Key Skills:
- Qualified in a professional accountancy qualification (CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA, CA) - qualified by experience or part qualified candidates will be considered.
- Knowledge and understanding of Local Government Accounting practices and procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of Local Government Capital Accounting.
- Experience of developing management and performance information.
- Knowledge of and development of computerised financial information systems (eg financial ledgers, income management systems, management reporting systems).

Loriens Stirling based client requires an experienced Accountant to support their existing team for an initial 6 month contract.
The successful candidate will have duties including:
- To prepare periodic financial monitoring statements that meet the needs of both Service Management and the corporate role of the Accounting Operations function.
- To prepare Revenue and Capital Budgets.
- To support corporate and service-based projects in relation to financial matters associated with those projects.

You will ideally come from a Public Sector/Local Authority background with experience of Oracle ERP. You will also have the following skills/experience:
