Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and delivering all aspects of the month-end process
  • Preparing monthly Profit & Loss and Trial Balance reports
  • Posting journals, including accruals and prepayments
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintaining and reconciling the fixed asset register
  • Supporting the subcontractor reconciliation and recharge process
  • Responding to customer queries and invoice checks
  • Carrying out general finance administration and supporting the wider team as required

Key Skills:

  • Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience in an accounting or finance role
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Significant attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage tasks individually and collaboratively
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Full UK driving licence

Job Title : Accountant (6-Month Fixed Term Contract)

Location : Hybrid - primarily homeworking but occasional travel to Dunston office required.

Contract type, shift pattern, working hours: 6 month fixed term contract, 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri

We're seeking an experienced Accountant to join the team on a 6-month fixed-term contract . This role offers the opportunity to own month-end accounting activities, work across multiple systems and processes, and support the finance team through a busy and exciting period of change. You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager and wider team to ensure our reporting remains accurate, timely and aligned with business needs.

This role is based at our Dunston office , with hybrid working available. Candidates must be able to travel to the office as required. Due to limited public transport links, access to a car and a full UK driving licence are essential.
