About the Role
The Account Manager will be responsible for identifying and developing sales opportunities for a portfolio of aftermarket automotive parts aimed at older vehicles.
Reporting to the National Performance Manager, the role will focus on growing existing and new customer accounts, increasing spend and supporting wider turnover and profitability objectives.
This is a commercially focused field-based position involving frequent customer visits, account development, negotiation, sales performance analysis and close collaboration with internal sales teams and a nationwide distribution network.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new sales opportunities within the automotive aftermarket.
- Manage and grow relationships with new and existing trade customers.
- Conduct frequent customer visits to understand requirements and identify opportunities for increased sales.
- Negotiate with customers and develop account plans that support turnover and profitability objectives.
- Monitor sales performance and use commercial data to identify opportunities for growth.
- Build business cases to support sales initiatives and commercial decisions.
- Take ownership of the assigned sales channel and its performance.
- Work closely with internal sales teams, head office colleagues and the wider distribution network.
- Monitor market developments and competitor activity within the automotive aftermarket.
- Support customers in developing sustainable business growth.
- Identify opportunities for operational and commercial improvement across customer accounts.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of managing operational or commercial performance and delivering strong results.
Required Skills
- Strong communication and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to build, maintain and develop effective customer relationships.
- Confidence analysing detailed statistical, numerical and financial information.
- Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to influence change within customer businesses to support growth and sustainability.
