Summary: The Accommodation Assessment & Lettings Team Leader will oversee a team of six officers in the public sector, focusing on managing accommodation offers and resolving housing issues. This role involves various administrative tasks related to housing assessments and ensuring compliance with relevant duties. The position is temporary, requiring a commitment of 35 hours per week for five months. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and facilitating communication with applicants and housing providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of six Accommodation Assessment & Lettings Officers.
- Offer accommodation for S188 and S193 duties.
- Provide suitable accommodation for applicants on the transfer list and urgent moves.
- Complete S208 notifications for out of borough placements.
- Handle discharge of duty for refusal of suitable accommodation.
- Complete final notification tasks and suitability assessments for HAP applicants.
- Undertake nomination tasks and match applicants to suitable accommodation.
- Open and close rent accounts on HMS and complete cancellations of bookings.
- Assist applicants with Housing Benefit Forms and MASH referrals.
- Record data accurately for IBAA and Nightly paid accommodations.
- Match single nightly paid applicants to less costly accommodations.
- Answer 80% of all calls and respond to emails within 48 hours.
