Summary: The role involves recruiting 4 Band 6 Children’s Specialist Speech and Language Therapists responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and providing interventions for children with speech and language difficulties. The therapists will work collaboratively with parents, clients, and professionals while managing specific clinical responsibilities and contributing to project coordination within the Integrated Therapies service. The position requires a proactive approach and compliance with professional standards, with a working pattern from Monday to Friday across various schools in Greenwich.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide interventions for children referred to the Speech & Language Therapy Service.
- Support parents, clients, and professionals in client management and training.
- Coordinate agreed areas of project work across the Integrated Therapies service.
- Develop and implement evidence-based speech and language therapy interventions.
- Train and develop colleagues within the team.
- Contribute to statutory assessments of special educational needs and deliver therapy as per EHCPs.
- Liaise with education settings, parents/carers, and other professionals in health and social care.
- Contribute to Trust, service, and professional-wide initiatives.
Key Skills:
- Valid registration with the relevant governing body (NMC and/or HCPC).
- Minimum of 6 months’ relevant experience.
- Proactive approach and willingness to contribute within busy teams.
- Understanding of professional and legal SEND responsibilities.
- Ability to develop and implement evidence-based interventions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

General Information:- The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis and the provision of intervention to all children referred to the Speech & Language Therapy Service in agreed locations.- You will support parents, clients and other professionals in all issues related to client management including training as appropriate.- You will have a responsibility for agreed areas of project co-ordination across the Integrated Therapies service. The Specialist Speech and Language Therapist will have a delegated specialist clinical responsibility for an agreed clinical area across the service and dissemination of information and resources as appropriate.- You will assess the need for, develop and implement evidence-based speech and language therapy interventions to children with a wide range of speech, language and communication difficulties.- You will support in the training and development of colleagues within the team.- You will be supported by senior team managers, who hold clinical and strategic lead responsibility for the SLT service.- You will understand and meet professional and legal SEND responsibilities outlined in the Children and Families Act 2014 including contributing to statutory assessments of special educational needs and delivery of Speech and Language Therapy provision as specified in children’s Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).- You will liaise with education settings and parents/carers, providing advice and support. You will also liaise with colleagues in health, education, social care and the voluntary sector as required.-You will contribute to Trust, service, and professional wide initiatives.
Working Pattern: Working Monday to Friday 08:30am-16:30pm or 09:00am-17:00pm Working across various schools in Greenwich. Duration – 3 months

- Fully compliant with NHS Framework or individual client standards

Approx days. £26.69 Per Hour Dependant on experience & client approval
