Summary: The role of 3rd Line WAN Network Support & Project Engineer involves configuring SRX series routers and supporting business-as-usual operations to deliver secure network services globally. The position is based full-time on-site in Birmingham and requires an experienced engineer to manage and support the Customer Network WAN estate. Daily responsibilities include project implementation and technical support escalations, alongside collaboration with the network design community. The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of various network technologies and configurations, particularly with Juniper devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure SRX series routers to meet project deadlines.
- Support business-as-usual operations for secure network services.
- Manage and support the Customer Network WAN estate.
- Handle project implementation work and technical network support escalations.
- Collaborate with the network design community for knowledge sharing and upskilling.
- Act as a technical lead and point of escalation for network-related faults.
Key Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Juniper SRX platform and Junos.
- Experience with BGP, IPSEC, MPLS, and PKI.
- Comprehensive CLI exposure on various SRX and MX platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for routing, switching, IPSEC VPNs, and MPLS.
- Knowledge of policy-based routing and load-balancing techniques.

We are looking for a 3rd Line WAN Network Support & Project Engineer the role will involve Configuring SRX series routers to meet tight project deadlines along and supporting BAU operations in order to enable the delivery of secure network services globally.
Are you an experienced 3rd line network engineer, looking to join a team of highly skilled engineers based in Birmingham to manage and support the Customer Network WAN estate.
Daily duties will include a mixture project/implementation work and general technical network support escalations.
Working collaboratively with the network design community, knowledge sharing and upskilling within the 3rd line team.
A skilled 3rd line engineer capable of configuring, trouble shooting and tuning Juniper network devices, a technical lead and point of escalation of network related faults.
Mandatory skills:
The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of configuring and tuning the following.
Juniper SRX platform
BGP
IPSEC
MPLS
PKI
Juniper SRX platform - successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of Junos & experience in various SRX and MX platforms and comprehensive CLi exposure.
Candidate will also have in-depth knowledge of routing and switching.
In-depth knowledge of configuring and tuning BGP, to include topics such as policy-based routing, manipulation of attributes, load-balancing techniques, and lastly have comprehensive troubleshooting skillset.
Must be familiar with trouble shooting IPSEC VPN's and MPLS
PKI - successful candidate will have knowledge of PKI infrastructure elements and be familiar with certificate-based VPN authentication.
