Summary: The 3rd Line Application Support Specialist will play a crucial role in providing advanced technical support within the Integration Specialist Team at De La Rue. This position involves mentoring new team members, managing escalated technical issues, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery and operational excellence. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide top-notch technical support and be the go-to expert in the team.
  • Work closely with local and central support teams to meet project milestones and SLAs.
  • Anticipate workload activities and manage escalated technical issues.
  • Join the Major Incident Response Team and provide out-of-hours on-call support.
  • Mentor new team members and assist in building new customer environments.
  • Own specific areas of expertise and deliver knowledge transfer sessions.
  • Collaborate with external partners for software version alignment.
  • Assist in drafting RfCs and maintain vital documentation.
  • Provide expert support for bespoke solutions and handle application administration.
  • Respond to security issues and offer training to colleagues.
  • Test and support proposed application changes while ensuring compliance with guidelines.

Key Skills:

  • Experienced knowledge of Linux operating systems (Debian 11 and Ubuntu 24.04).
  • Experienced knowledge of containerisation technologies (Docker).
  • Experienced knowledge of Ansible.
  • Experienced knowledge of querying databases (Microsoft SQL, MariaDB, MySQL, Cassandra).
  • Experienced knowledge of web servers (IIS, Apache, Nginx).
  • Knowledge of SSL Certificates and virtual server platforms (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Octopus deployment automation (desirable).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Bash and PowerShell) (desirable).
  • Proven 3rd line support experience.
  • Knowledge of supporting and deploying packaged applications and message broker systems (useful).
  • Knowledge of current Windows Server operating systems (useful).
