Summary: The 3D CAD Designer role focuses on developing in-house design capabilities for energy infrastructure projects. The position involves creating high-quality 3D models and engineering drawings in collaboration with engineers and project teams. The contract is for 12 months and is classified as outside IR35. The working arrangement is hybrid, with three days in the office and two days at home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using industry-standard CAD software.
  • Develop general arrangement drawings, layouts and construction details.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary models to identify and resolve clashes.
  • Prepare drawing packages for client, procurement and construction teams.
  • Update models throughout the project lifecycle, including as-built information.
  • Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, BIM requirements and CDE processes.
  • Support visualisations, construction sequencing and practical, buildable design solutions.

Key Skills:

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering, CAD, Design or similar.
  • Experience with software such as AutoCAD 3D, Civil 3D, Revit, Inventor, SolidWorks or Bentley OpenBuildings/OpenRoads.
  • Background producing engineering drawings for infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Understanding of BIM, Common Data Environments (CDE) and engineering drawing standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within project teams.

3D CAD Designer - Energy Infrastructure

We're looking for an experienced 3D CAD Designer to help build out an in-house design capability. Working alongside engineers and project teams, you'll produce high-quality 3D models and engineering drawings that support projects from bid and FEED stages through to construction.
