Summary: The role of a 2nd Line Support Engineer involves providing technical support within a major Financial Services company, focusing on high-quality customer service. The position requires expertise in various technical areas, including Microsoft systems and desktop hardware, and entails working onsite five days a week. The engineer will collaborate with another individual to manage the local office's IT needs. This role is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 2nd line technical support for local office IT issues.
- Ensure high-quality customer service in all interactions.
- Manage desktop hardware and software configurations.
- Utilize SCCM for OS and application deployment, monitoring, and reporting.
- Administer Microsoft Office suite and Office 365 applications.
- Perform basic Active Directory administration and Group Policy management.
- Support messaging and collaboration tools, including Microsoft Exchange and Outlook.
- Implement email security measures and understand virtualization technologies.
- Manage office telephony services and mobile device configurations.
Key Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows operating systems, particularly Windows 10.
- Experience with desktop hardware architecture.
- Knowledge of SCCM for deployment and fault finding.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and advanced features.
- Experience with Office 365, Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
- Basic administration skills in Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Understanding of email security products and Microsoft Exchange environment.
- Knowledge of networking technologies including LAN/WAN/vLAN, DHCP, and DNS.
- Experience with telephony services and mobile device management.
