Summary: The VMware Architect role involves joining the infrastructure support team to manage large-scale ESXi/vCenter clusters within a significant vSphere deployment. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance the VMware infrastructure in line with our virtualization strategy and standards.
- Perform capacity planning and health checks across the environment.
- Support operational standards around patching, alerting, and resource optimization.
- Contribute to incident resolution, working with Broadcom (VMware) and other vendors as needed.
- Produce technical documentation (logical/physical/data flow diagrams).
- Configure alerts, alarms, and performance reports using scripts and automation tools.
- Provide insight into platform improvements based on hands-on analysis and monitoring.
- Certifying of third-party virtual appliances in line with our standards.
Key Skills:
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) – Mandatory.
- Large enterprise VMware experience.
- Strong knowledge of ESXi, vCenter, DRS, HA, Content Libraries, Distributed Switches.
- Understanding of NUMA, vNUMA, and ESXi lifecycle.
- ESXi and vCenter expertise in large-scale environments.
- Scripting skills: PowerCLI, PowerShell (Terraform/Jenkins advantageous).
- Networking, server, and storage fundamentals.
- Familiarity with alternative hypervisors (KVM, Kubevirt, Openshift).
- Optional: F5 LTM, DNS, NSX, DFW, VCF concepts.
- Strong attention to detail, especially in writing clear and accurate documentation.
- Adaptable and willing to embrace change quickly.
- Team player, able to collaborate globally.
- Comfortable learning new tools and processes (training provided).

You will initially join the infrastructure support team focused on large-scale ESXi/vCenter clusters across one of the biggest vSphere deployments in the world. After an eight-week production support ramp-up, you’ll transition into the specific support team, reporting to the Virtualization Team Lead. The role will focus on the Load Balancer ESXi platform. The VMs are supported in collaboration with other teams. The role requires the review and approval of third-party virtual appliances, along with the creation of supporting documentation. The support team tasks include updating existing and creating new support documentation.
