Summary: Our client is looking for a skilled Traffic Engineer to deliver traffic engineering solutions and infrastructure projects on a contract basis. The role requires ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards while managing projects autonomously. The successful candidate will address various traffic engineering challenges and liaise with multiple stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO's) from inception to implementation with comprehensive knowledge of the legislation related to TROs.
- Implementing traffic calming schemes, speed limit changes, and minor highway infrastructure modifications.
- Addressing traffic engineering challenges related to parking, traffic capacity, and active travel route and destination signage.
- Liaising with area teams, elected members, internal staff, and external colleagues, including emergency services.
- Providing specialist advice on traffic-related queries.
- Managing projects autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Presenting technical information clearly with high-level interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

- Experience in delivering TROs and a full understanding of the associated legislation.
- Proficiency in delivering traffic calming schemes, speed limit changes, and small highway infrastructure changes.
- Background in providing traffic engineering solutions for parking issues, traffic capacity improvements, and signage.
- Good understanding of relevant design guides, codes, and standards.
- Project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- High level of interpersonal skills for effective communication and presentation of technical information.
