Summary: Our client is looking for a skilled Traffic Engineer to deliver traffic engineering solutions and infrastructure projects on a contract basis. The role requires ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards while managing projects autonomously. Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO's) from inception to implementation with comprehensive knowledge of the legislation related to TROs.
  • Implementing traffic calming schemes, speed limit changes, and minor highway infrastructure modifications.
  • Addressing traffic engineering challenges related to parking, traffic capacity, and active travel route and destination signage.
  • Liaising with area teams, elected members, internal staff, and external colleagues, including emergency services.
  • Providing specialist advice on traffic-related queries.
  • Managing projects autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Presenting technical information clearly with high-level interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in delivering TROs and a full understanding of the associated legislation.
  • Proficiency in delivering traffic calming schemes, speed limit changes, and small highway infrastructure changes.
