Summary: The Test Director - Banking role is focused on leading the test strategy and delivery for a major Banking & Capital Markets transformation programme. The position requires extensive experience in Quality Engineering and managing senior client stakeholders to ensure testing meets quality, time, and cost objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UK Banking and Capital Markets, along with proven leadership in test management. This is a contract position classified as inside IR35, based in London with a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape and own the test strategy for the transformation programme
- Lead complex test delivery and manage senior client stakeholders
- Ensure testing meets quality, time, and cost objectives
- Oversee functional, integration, UAT, non-functional, performance, and automation testing
- Manage offshore/nearshore testing teams
- Utilize test management tools such as JIRA, ADO, X-Ray, ALM, or Zephyr
- Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and delivery ownership
Key Skills:
- Senior Test Director/QA Director/Quality Engineering leadership experience
- Strong UK Banking, Capital Markets or Financial Services background
- Experience creating test strategies for large-scale transformation programmes
- Strong client-facing stakeholder management skills
- Functional, integration, UAT, non-functional, performance and automation testing experience
- Experience managing offshore/nearshore teams
- Test management tooling experience, such as JIRA, ADO, X-Ray, ALM or Zephyr
- Strong commercial awareness and delivery ownership
- ISTQB Advanced/Test Manager certification (desirable)
- Automation framework experience (desirable)
- Exposure to GenAI tooling within the SDLC (desirable)
- Previous consulting/professional services experience (desirable)
