Summary: The Test Delivery Lead will oversee the testing workstream for a new greenfield platform, ensuring quality and timely delivery across multiple engineering squads. This role emphasizes delivery over automation, requiring strong communication and coordination skills to align teams on testing priorities and timelines. The position involves hands-on testing when necessary and serves as the primary point of contact for quality assurance and reporting. The role is hybrid, requiring two days a week on-site in Manchester.
Key Responsibilities:
- Owning the full test workstream across several engineering teams
- Leading test planning, strategy, coverage, risk management, and release readiness
- Acting as the go-to person for delivery status, blockers, and quality reporting
- Providing clear communication to stakeholders and senior leadership
- Aligning squads on testing priorities, scope, and timelines
- Getting hands-on where needed (exploratory testing, reviewing automation outputs), without being a pure tester
Key Skills:
- Proven experience coordinating delivery/testing across multiple teams
- Strong testing background but with a delivery-first mindset
- Confident communicator comfortable facing off to PMs, engineering leads, and senior leadership
- Experience with CI/CD, release processes, and multi-team environments
- Understanding of QA best practice and how to apply it at scale
- API testing knowledge (Postman/SoapUI) is a bonus, not essential

This isn’t an automation tester role, it’s a delivery-driven position where you’ll be the single point of truth for quality, timelines, and test readiness. You’ll sit at the centre of engineering, product and leadership, ensuring clarity, predictability and confidence around every release.
