Summary: The Technology Lead role involves providing technical leadership within a central government organization in London for an initial 6-month contract. The successful candidate will oversee a technology program and collaborate with senior leadership teams. This role is classified as inside IR35 and requires on-site presence 2-3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight to a programme or team of teams in a senior technical leadership role.
- Develop and drive the roadmap for a major technology programme.
- Support delivery of change through technical and IT enablement.
- Collaborate with senior leadership teams and programme boards.
- Ensure understanding of enterprise IT, agile delivery, and DevSecOps style working.
- Maintain knowledge of government IT, HR, and technology management processes.
- Address cyber security considerations influencing technical choices for IT and engineering systems.
Key Skills:
- Experience working within Central Government.
- Background as a developer, architect, or in another technical role.
- Experience in a senior technical leadership role (CTO, principal architect, etc.).
- Understanding of enterprise IT and agile delivery methodologies.
- Knowledge of government IT and technology management processes.
- Experience in developing technology roadmaps.

Change-IT are looking for a Technology Lead to join a central government organisation based in London. The role is for 6 months initially, with a possibility of extension.
This role is INSIDE IR35, paying between £850-£950 per day depending on experience.
Experience Required:
- Experience of working within Central Government previously - this is an essential requirement.
- Background in the technical world, you should have been a developer, architect or in another technical role in your past
- Understanding of enterprise IT, agile delivery and DevSecOps style working
- Experience in a senior technical leadership role, this should be providing oversight to a programme or team of teams (CTO, principal architect or similar) - Essential
- Knowledge of government IT, HR and technology management processes
- Experience in developing and driving the roadmap for a major technology programme
- A broad understanding of cyber security and how this influences technical choices for IT and engineering systems
- Clear experience in technical and IT enablement for a technology focussed organisation, supporting delivery of change
- Solid experience working with senior leadership teams and programme boards
