Summary: The Technical Engineering Advisor at Xometry is responsible for supporting product development and production processes by acting as a liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal teams. This role focuses on optimizing designs for manufacturing and ensuring successful production launches. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and experience in engineering or manufacturing environments. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Design for Manufacturing (DFM) analysis
- Analyze 2D drawings and 3D models to ensure compliance with technical requirements
- Coordinate product development and production launch processes
- Act as a liaison between customers and supplier companies
- Implement engineering changes in production systems (change management)
- Conduct and report production risk analyses, including action plans
- Ensure timely completion of key production stages
- Support continuous improvement of manufacturing processes
Key Skills:
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and inspection/QA practices
- Experience with 2D/3D CAD software
- Ability to identify DFM issues from CAD models and technical drawings
- Understanding of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and/or 3D printing (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field (preferred)
- 2–4 years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience with manufacturing processes (CNC, sheet metal, 3D printing)
- Strong attention to detail
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Problem-solving mindset
- English — native or very fluent (spoken and written)
