Summary: The Software Release Manager will oversee the release planning, coordination, and execution of software deployments for a 3-month contract. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed release plans, schedules, and timelines, ensuring alignment with project plan and deliverables.
- Coordinate the efforts of development, operations, test, and other relevant teams to ensure a smooth and efficient release process.
- Identify potential risks and issues that could impact the release process and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
- Oversee the quality assurance process to ensure that each release meets the necessary quality standards before deployment.
- Supervise the change management process to maintain the stability and integrity of the product.
- Oversee the final stages of the release, including the deployment strategy and execution.
- Ensure support systems are in place for post deployment issues and feedback.
- Serve as the central point of communication for the release, keeping all stakeholders informed about progress, challenges, and any changes to the plan.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve the release process, including automation, efficiency, and speed.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in software development, release management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience with release management tools and processes.
- Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Familiarity with version control systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.

Harvey Nash's Client is recruiting for a Software Release Manager on a 3 month contract.
Main Responsibilities
- Release Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed release plans, schedules, and timelines, ensuring alignment with project plan and deliverables. This includes identifying and sequencing all necessary activities from development to deployment.
- Release Coordination: Coordinate the efforts of development, operations, test, and other relevant teams to ensure a smooth and efficient release process. This involves facilitating communication and collaboration among teams.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues that could impact the release process and develop mitigation strategies to address them. This includes proactively addressing potential obstacles and implementing contingency plans.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality assurance process to ensure that each release meets the necessary quality standards before deployment. This may involve coordinating testing, code reviews, and other verification processes.
- Change Management: Supervise the change management process to maintain the stability and integrity of the product. This includes managing changes to the release scope, schedule, and resources.
- Deployment Management: Oversee the final stages of the release, including the deployment strategy and execution. This includes ensuring that deployments are performed efficiently and with minimal disruption to users.
- Post-Release Support: Ensure support systems are in place for post deployment issues and feedback. This includes monitoring the performance of the release and addressing any issues that arise.

Key Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in software development, release management, or a related field. Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience with release management tools and processes.
- Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Familiarity with version control systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
