Hays Construction are pleased to be working with an expanding NI-Based contractor who currently have a requirement for an experienced Site Engineer to join them on their latest project. This Mid-Ulster based contractor has gained excellent levels of repeat business with key clients in the industrial and commercial sectors in recent years. These established relationships have led to continued bid success for new-build schemes across NI & ROI.
Your new role
As Site Engineer on a major new build industrial unit, your responsibilities will include setting out duties, using a Total Station, GPS, Laser Level and surveying duties. You will be tasked with reading and interpreting architectural drawings and then practically applying these drawings to the day-to-day operations on site. In the absence of the Site Manager, you will be required to monitor and supervise the work of subcontractors and ensure health and safety measures are being adhered to. In addition to this, you will be subject to carrying out quality control checks and reporting any issues to the Site Manager. Your role will be essential in the successful completion of the project, leading the team of engineers through the programme of works.
What you'll need to succeed
Technical knowledge of the construction industry and best practices within site engineering will be necessary. Previous experience of building or civil site engineering will be advantageous, and any previous commercial build experience would be extremely favourable.Attention to detail will enable you to deliver on this key education project in Co. Tyrone. Efficient time management and organisational skills will be essential in ensuring the effective delivery of each project. Teamwork and communication skills will be extremely valuable and will enable you to help build good working relationships with your team and subcontractors.
What you'll get in return
Projects will be local, with the initial scheme taking place in Co. Tyrone. The initial phase of works will run for approximately 6 months, with the potential for a further 3 or 4 phases, which in turn will provide you with long-term permanent work, upon successful completion of the initial temporary contract. This company will provide you with the opportunity to gain, develop and expand your site engineering experience on a key project based in NI with no UK travel required.
