Summary: The Service Technician role involves performing mechanical and electrical maintenance, repair, and fault finding on rail vehicles, specifically Electrostar Stock, within a technical team. The position requires adherence to safety regulations while ensuring the reliability and safety of the fleet. The technician will also be responsible for training preparations and working remotely as part of a team. This ongoing position offers a shift pattern of Panama shifts on days and nights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake mechanical and electrical fault finding and repair on Rolling stock units.
- Ensure maintenance is performed in accordance with safety regulations.
- Conduct electrical and mechanical fault finding on specific technical issues.
- Prepare trains for service.
- Work effectively within a remote team.
- Apply necessary protection before working on units.
Key Skills:
- Proven ability to carry out routine maintenance from written instructions.
- Knowledge of computer-based systems for recording and closing out work.
- Ability to prioritize work to maximize output with available resources.
- Desirable UK driving license.
- Experience in Rolling Stock, Aviation, HGV, PCV, Marine, Automation, or similar industries.
- A Level 3 qualification or higher in an Engineering discipline.
