Exciting opportunity for a Fullstack Python Developer with experience in Power Trading to join this global Energy company.

The European Power team is a rapidly expanding team setup in 2018 to help the business grow and expand Power Trading and Renewable Power Generation. The European Power business s core focus is the trading and optimisation of electricity within Europe.

This role is for a Python software engineer who will join an agile delivery team delivering software solutions and applications supporting trading and operations for the Power Desk.

Ideally suited to someone who can work in a fast paced environment and able to solve complex business problems. It will involve developing tools and solutions within an Azure cloud platform utilising native Azure technologies and big Data tools. Working as part of a DevOps team, you will be a full stack developer responsible for designing, building, testing, releasing and supporting back end and front end applications as well as data handling tools end-to-end.

Key Skills and Experience:

10+ Years development experience in designing, developing and maintaining, full stack applications in Python
Familiarity with and experience of front end development utilising React framework
Has experience of Azure Cloud native technologies (Azure Functions, Azure App Insights, Azure Service Bus, Azure API Management, Azure Event Hubs)
Has built low latency solutions for data acquisition and experience of data streaming
Has created proprietary code libraries (with documentation) to be used by other developers
Uses version control and manages their code base appropriately
Automation of deployments and testing (CI/CD)
Has both supported their own solutions post go-live and offloaded support to a third-party support organisation
Knowledge and experience of full Software Development Lifecycle and working within a Scrum environment
Experience in the energy industry
Familiarity of end to end Power trading value chain and wholesale energy markets (specifically European Power Markets)
Data engineering experience
