Summary: The Senior Policy Adviser at Age International will lead policy and influencing efforts in Gender and Climate, ensuring the voices of older people are prioritized in these areas. This role involves managing a Policy Adviser and fostering collaborative relationships to enhance impact. The position requires strategic thinking and effective communication with diverse stakeholders. It is a 12-month maternity cover contract, working 28 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead policy and influencing work in Gender and Climate to support strategic objectives.
- Line manage the Policy Adviser (Health and Humanitarian) and support other Influencing colleagues.
- Facilitate collaborative working relationships for increased impact.
- Ensure high-quality policy analysis and communications.
Key Skills:
- Experience in effective communications with diverse UK and international policy stakeholders.
- Experience in research and policy analysis, translating complex data into engaging content.
- Experience influencing stakeholders at various levels for policy change.
- Experience coordinating civil society networks to influence decision-makers.
- Line management experience with objective setting and professional development support.
- Strategic approach to stakeholder influencing and aligning policy work with goals.
- Ability to build effective working relationships and promote Age International's agenda.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to attend relevant events in the UK and occasionally travel internationally.
