Summary: The Senior Planning Lawyer (Part-time) role involves providing legal advice on planning matters, drafting legal documentation, and attending Planning Committee meetings. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on planning matters, including Section 106 Agreements and planning obligations.
- Draft and negotiate legal documentation including deeds and agreements.
- Attend and advise at Planning Committee meetings once a month.
- Handle planning-related enquiries, some licensing issues, and high volumes of FOI requests. (Highly desirable but not essential)
- Liaise effectively with planning officers and keep them updated on progress.
- Ensure timely and efficient file management with minimal supervision.
Key Skills:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with prior local authority planning law experience.
- Strong communication and client-handling skills.
- Availability to work part-time (22 hours/week) and attend in-person meetings monthly.
- Experience with information governance or FOI is highly desirable.
