Summary: The Senior .NET Engineer role involves designing and delivering high-quality, secure, and scalable services within a technology-driven organization. This position requires ownership of project milestones while mentoring engineers and collaborating with various teams to ensure timely delivery. The role is hybrid, based in either London or Coventry, and is a 6-month contract with potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate requirements into actionable plans, estimates, and delivery milestones while managing risks and dependencies
- Mentor engineers through pairing, design reviews, and coaching to improve team capability and productivity
- Collaborate with Product, QA, and Platform teams to ensure smooth and timely delivery
- Embed secure coding practices, including OWASP standards, threat modelling, and secure secrets management
- Implement robust authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth2/OIDC) and secure API design
Key Skills:
- Strong expertise in .NET 8, C#, ASP.NET Core, and RESTful API development
- Experience with asynchronous programming, dependency injection, and testing frameworks (eg, xUnit)
- Solid understanding of security principles including OWASP Top 10, OAuth2/OIDC, TLS, and secure design
- Hands-on experience with Azure services (App Service, AKS, Functions) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and observability tooling
- Strong architectural knowledge including DDD, microservices, event-driven systems, and resiliency patterns
