Who You Will Work With

Our client is a global financial services firm that manages wealth, navigates complex markets, and design strategic financial objectives. The firm provides risk management solutions across a variety of sectors, emphasizing long-term relationships, and innovative approaches to financial challenges.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with a large global team to enhance and maintain distributed, multi-application enrichment and allocation systems.
• Modernise applications using technologies such as Java 21, Spring Boot 3.3+, Gradle, MongoDB and Kafka.
• Improve system reliability, scalability, observability, performance and availability.
• Align processes across related systems to reduce duplication and simplify future maintenance.
• Design, develop and test functional and non-functional enhancements that meet evolving business and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and contribute to code reviews, providing constructive feedback across teams.
• Support the department's modernisation strategy through cross-functional collaboration, technical design discussions and adherence to engineering, security and design best practices.

What You Bring

• Strong proficiency in Java (Spring/Gradle), with experience in developing and maintaining large-scale applications.
• Hands-on knowledge of DB2, Sybase and MongoDB, alongside strong SQL skills.
• Experience with messaging technologies, particularly Kafka.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix, Shell Scripting and Python.
• Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD practices, containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
• Previous experience modernising and re-engineering large-scale systems, ideally within the financial services sector.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively within a large global team.
