Summary: The role of IT Infrastructure Project Manager involves leading a significant outsourcing transition for a global financial services firm within a complex international environment. The position requires extensive experience in managing infrastructure projects and transitions, ensuring smooth service acceptance and handover into business-as-usual operations. The contract is for six months with a possibility of extension, and the role is classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end infrastructure outsourcing transitions between suppliers.
  • Manage the full transition life cycle, including mobilisation, discovery, knowledge transfer, shadowing, service takeover, stabilisation, and exit.
  • Oversee transitions across key infrastructure domains, including Cloud Services, Networks, Security, and End User Computing (EUC).
  • Collaborate closely with outsourced infrastructure partners and internal IT leads.
  • Implement structured governance, reporting, and risk/issue management throughout transitions.
  • Ensure smooth acceptance into service and handover into BAU with comprehensive knowledge transfer.
  • Work across Architecture, Security, Compliance, SDLC, and Service Acceptance processes.
  • Manage multiple workstreams alongside remediation and control improvement initiatives.

Key Skills:

  • 7-10+ years of hands-on infrastructure project management experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering end-to-end service transitions between suppliers.
  • Deep understanding of transition phases, frameworks, governance, and common pitfalls.
  • Experience working client-side with third-party providers.
  • Practical experience with TUPE/people transitions, contract novation, and licence/asset transfers.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with global senior IT leadership.
  • Experience across both Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Solid infrastructure background across Cloud, Network, Security, and EUC environments.

Day rate: 600-700/day, Inside IR35
