Working with a global Consulting firm, we are seeking a highly experienced Industry Expert or Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide strategic advisory services for a large-scale application rationalisation initiative within a major global oil company. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in guiding large, complex organisations through application rationalisation processes. While specific Oil & Gas industry experience is beneficial, the primary requirement is deep expertise in the strategic and advisory aspects of application rationalisation in global enterprises.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Advisory: Provide expert guidance on the overall approach to application rationalisation, ensuring alignment with the organisation's long-term business and IT strategies.Expert Analysis: Offer in-depth analysis of the current application landscape, identifying strategic opportunities for optimisation, consolidation, and decommissioning.Thought Leadership: Serve as a thought leader, bringing forward innovative ideas and best practices from the industry to shape the rationalisation strategy.Stakeholder Consultation: Engage with senior leadership and key stakeholders to ensure their needs and concerns are integrated into the strategy, offering expert advice to guide decision-making.Blueprint Development: Collaborate with internal teams to develop a high-level blueprint for the rationalisation effort, providing advisory oversight to ensure feasibility and strategic fit.Risk and Opportunity Identification: Identify potential risks and opportunities associated with the rationalisation effort, advising on mitigation strategies and ways to capitalise on value-adding opportunities.Regulatory and Governance Advisory: Ensure all recommendations and strategies comply with relevant regulations and align with the organisation's governance frameworks.Qualifications:Experience: 15+ years of experience in IT strategy, with a focus on application rationalisation, portfolio management, or enterprise architecture within large, global organisations.Strategic Expertise: Proven track record in providing strategic advisory services at the executive level, particularly in complex, multinational environments.Communication and Influence: Exceptional ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively, influencing senior leadership and stakeholders.Please get in touch with stephen@paritasrecruitment.com for more information
