Summary: The Senior Civil Structural Engineer role is a contract position based in Plymouth, focusing on delivering structural engineering work packages within the nuclear industry. The engineer will manage technical deliverables, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards while working closely with the Discipline Lead. The position requires a strong background in civil engineering, particularly in heavy structures and nuclear safety. The contract duration is approximately 8-9 months, with an immediate start date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Discipline Lead in delivering structural engineering work packages.
- Manage technical deliverables in line with planned deliverables agreed by the Discipline Lead.
- Develop and implement the Engineering Management Plan for relevant packages.
- Design and substantiate heavy civil engineering and building structures to seismic codes.
- Ensure compliance with nuclear safety functions and relevant construction techniques.
- Maintain a sound understanding of engineering design, safety practices, and company procedures.
Key Skills:
- Qualified and/or Chartered in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in executing construction works, particularly in the nuclear industry.
- Knowledge of architectural design and building services installation.
- Understanding of health and safety, design, and quality procedures.
- Experience with dock structures is preferred.
