Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver creative, multi-sensory lessons tailored to a wide range of learning needs
- Support communication development using AAC, visual supports, and structured teaching approaches (e.g., TEACCH, PECS, Makaton)
- Implement positive behaviour support strategies and work closely with behaviour specialists
- Collaborate with therapists, support staff, and families to ensure a holistic approach to each learner's development
- Create a safe, predictable and nurturing learning environment
Key Skills:
- Qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with experience in SEN/SEMH settings
- Strong understanding of Autism, MSLD, and SLCN, and experience managing associated behavioural needs
- Skilled in differentiating curriculum content and using specialist communication strategies
- Resilient, reflective and deeply committed to pupil well-being and progress
- Able to lead or work as part of a multidisciplinary team
