Summary: The Resolution & Tribunal Officer will manage Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) tribunal cases, supporting the local authority throughout the appeals process. This role involves coordinating mediations, representing the authority at tribunal hearings, and maintaining accurate case records. The position requires effective communication with various stakeholders, including parents and legal teams, to resolve disputes efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee appeals to the First-tier Tribunal, ensuring all statutory deadlines and compliance requirements are met
- Coordinate mediations to resolve disputes where possible and reduce tribunal escalation
- Represent the local authority at tribunal hearings
- Act as a key point of contact for parents, carers, young people, legal teams, advocates and educational settings
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation
Key Skills:
- Experience working within SEND tribunal processes or a similar local authority setting
- Strong case management and organisational skills
- Confident communicator with experience engaging a range of stakeholders
- Ability to manage complex cases and work to tight deadlines
