Summary: The Service Architect role focuses on ensuring coherence and assurance across design activities within a platform, emphasizing the definition and assurance of service requirements. The position involves collaboration with various stakeholders to embed supportability and service features into the design lifecycle. The role is remote with occasional on-site work in Corsham and is set to last until March 2026, with a possibility of extension. The successful candidate will be responsible for service requirement definition, through-life management, service design, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with Front Line Command Users to understand service expectations and current support structures.
  • Translate service requirements into actionable guidance for Design Office Architects.
  • Provide governance on service aspects across the programme.
  • Ensure Secure by Design (SbD) principles are met in collaboration with security teams.
  • Define service elements for business continuity, monitoring, maintenance, backup/restore, security patching, availability & resilience, and operational support.
  • Define service roles and responsibilities and establish service acceptance criteria.
  • Guide architects to ensure designs meet service standards.
  • Act as Service Architect for the Next Generation OpNet System (SYS03) and define service wrap and through-life management requirements.
  • Produce service documentation and knowledge transfer materials, defining SLAs and KPIs.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Service Architecture, Service Management, or requirements development.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • ITIL v4 Foundation certification.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and MS Project.
  • Experience delivering ICS solutions.
  • Deep understanding of service design and transition.
  • Familiarity with SLAs, OLAs, and enterprise service tools (Helix, Remedy, ServiceNow).
  • Skilled in process mapping and modelling.
  • Experience designing for resilience and security.
  • Current SC clearance.

Role Overview

The project ensures coherence and assurance across all design activities within the Platform. As a Service Architect, you will play a pivotal role in defining, advising, and assuring service requirements for the platform, working closely with Solution Architects, Product Owners, and Front Line Command Users. Your focus will be on embedding supportability and service features into the design lifecycle, ensuring they are implemented and continuously improved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service Requirement Definition
