Summary: The role of SC Cleared CIS Engineer / Infrastructure Engineer involves supporting a Defence technology programme by managing secure development, test, and deployable environments. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain secure on premise and cloud based test and development environments.
- Build, configure and administer Windows and Linux virtual machines.
- Install, configure and secure laptops and user devices in line with MOD security standards.
- Administer Active Directory environments and user access controls.
- Support secure remote access solutions for authorised users.
- Ensure infrastructure availability, performance and resilience across development and test environments.
- Perform vulnerability management, patching and security assurance activities.
- Maintain technical documentation, configuration records and architecture diagrams.
- Support deployable CIS capabilities for exercises and operational activities.
- Assist with the deployment and integration of emerging digital technologies, including AI and Large Language Model (LLM) environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, system and connectivity issues.
- Work closely with engineers, developers and stakeholders across the programme.
Key Skills:
- Experience supporting MOD Communications and Information Systems (CIS) environments.
- BCIP and/or OpNET.
- Linux.
- Experience building and managing Windows and Linux virtual machines.
- Installing, configuring and securing laptops and end-user devices.
- Active Directory.
- Understanding of AI use cases and Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Kubernetes installation and cluster administration (desirable).
- Proxmox Hypervisor experience (desirable).
- Server installation, configuration and lifecycle management (desirable).
- Networking Engineering CCNA level or equivalent (desirable).
- Cloud infrastructure experience, particularly Azure and Oracle Cloud (desirable).
- Active SC Clearance is essential due to programme requirements.
