Summary: The Risk Project Manager will lead a strategic initiative to establish a new entity through the merger of two internal entities, focusing on risk systems, processes, and governance frameworks. This role requires ensuring project delivery aligns with scope, cost, quality, and compliance standards while managing both IT and non-IT project elements. The position demands strong leadership in risk-related project initiatives and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The role is based in London and requires on-site presence for five days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and govern end-to-end risk-related project initiatives
  • Define scope, plan, deliver, and close complex risk and compliance-related change projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage delivery across both operational and IT domains
  • Ensure full compliance with internal delivery frameworks, including SOX, third-party risk, data protection, and operational resilience
  • Deliver high-quality documentation, including executive reporting, risk logs, lessons learned, and post-implementation reviews
  • Maintain strong portfolio oversight, including risk, issue, and resource management
  • Act as primary liaison for risk workstreams within broader programme governance forums

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in programme/project management within financial services, especially across risk management (Credit Risk, Market Risk, Liquidity Risk – Not Front office Risk)
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, including capex/opex classification
  • Experience delivering both non-IT (procedural, regulatory, organisational) and IT change (systems, databases, migrations) projects
  • Deep understanding of project and portfolio controls, including risk and issue management, executive reporting, and roadmap tracking
  • Strong familiarity with governance frameworks and regulatory requirements such as SOX, data protection, and operational resilience
  • Competency in defining and managing Terms of Reference, delivery charters, and formal governance structures
