Summary: The Solution Architect role involves leading the design of technology solutions within a central architecture function for a leading organization in the utilities sector. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to define and deliver end-to-end solutions while providing architectural governance. The role is remote with occasional travel and is contracted until January 31, 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the design of end-to-end solution architectures across multiple concurrent programmes and projects.
- Translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and supportable technology solutions.
- Providing architectural governance and assurance throughout delivery.
- Collaborating with product, engineering, and business teams to ensure solutions are aligned to strategic objectives.
- Managing architectural risks, dependencies, and design decisions.
- Contributing to domain roadmaps and identifying opportunities for technology simplification and modernisation.
- Evaluating new technologies, vendors, and emerging capabilities where appropriate.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to both business and technology stakeholders.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience operating as a Solution Architect within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong track record of delivering architecture across large-scale transformation and change programmes.
- Experience designing cloud-native solutions, ideally within AWS environments.
- Strong understanding of integration architecture, APIs, SaaS platforms, and modern application architectures.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Experience balancing business objectives, technical requirements, risk, and cost considerations.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with multiple competing priorities.

We're currently partnering with a leading organisation in the utilities sector that is undergoing significant investment in customer-facing technology and digital transformation. As part of this journey, we're looking to appoint an experienced Solution Architect to join a central architecture function supporting a broad portfolio of business-critical change initiatives.
This role sits within the Customer domain and will play a key part in shaping and delivering technology solutions that improve customer experience, support operational excellence, and enable long-term business strategy.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, engineers, and technical specialists to define end-to-end solutions and provide architectural leadership throughout the delivery lifecycle.
What you'll be doing -
