Summary: The Senior Cloud Engineer role focuses on supporting the migration from on-premises to Azure, enhancing cloud engineering capabilities in a cloud-first environment. The position requires expertise in Azure infrastructure, automation, and troubleshooting, with responsibilities including migration planning and Tier 2/Tier 3 support. The ideal candidate will also mentor junior team members and assist in implementing Infrastructure as Code practices. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire position with on-call expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support remaining on-prem-to-Azure lift-and-shift migration work
- Assist with Azure VM migration planning, validation, cutover, and post-migration cleanup
- Support Azure infrastructure design, implementation, and troubleshooting
- Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for complex cloud, infrastructure, AVD, Entra, and connectivity issues
- Assist with Azure networking, private connectivity, DNS, routing, and access troubleshooting
- Support Terraform / Infrastructure as Code implementation and maintenance
- Support CI/CD pipeline integration for infrastructure deployment where needed
- Assist with backup, monitoring, logging, and operational readiness checks
- Help document migration patterns, runbooks, and operational handoffs
- Support future acquisition/integration readiness through scalable cloud patterns
- Mentor/ramp junior or newer cloud team members where appropriate
Key Skills:
- Strong Azure infrastructure engineering experience

- Strong understanding of Azure networking, routing, DNS, NSGs, private endpoints, and connectivity
- Experience with Entra ID / Azure AD

- PowerShell or scripting experience
- Experience with monitoring, backup, and operational readiness in Azure
- Ability to own complex escalations and drive issues to resolution

Primary Purpose:
We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to support the remaining on-prem-to-Azure migration effort and strengthen our cloud engineering capacity as we move toward a more cloud-first operating model.
This role should be a senior, cloud-native resource who can support Azure migration, infrastructure engineering, Tier 2/Tier 3 escalations, automation, Terraform/IaC, AVD, Entra, and future integrations.
