Security Architect

Summary: The Security Architect role involves enhancing the IT security posture of a customer through governance, process development, and technical security tooling. The position requires collaboration with C-Suite executives and leadership to create a security roadmap while leading security projects and mentoring the IT team. The role is remote and offered as a 3-month contract through an umbrella company. Immediate start is required for a results-driven professional with a strong background in IT security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provided SME guidance and support to the C-Suite and Leadership and help to develop security roadmap for the business
• Review existing security posture and recommendations based on experience and industry best practice
• Take ownership as Technical for new security related projects and initiatives
• Lead and mentor other members of the IT Team in all aspects of IT Security
• Operate as a technical security authority when assessing threats, risks and vulnerabilities to customer systems/assets and driving forward solutions and remediation initiatives
• Ensure security tooling is maintained and managed to provide the highest levels of protection to systems and networks
• Work with 3rd party vendors and consultants to develop new solutions

Key Skills:

• Previous experience developing extensive Security processes and posture in Legacy environments
• Experience of delivering IT Security Solutions within retail industries
• Technical background in IT security across all areas such as EDR, NDR, SIEM
• Knowledge of security best practices and frameworks (ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials+, CIS 18, NIST, ISF, OWASP)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills must be able to communicate effectively with C-Suite
• Good planning and organisational skills to successfully plan, co-ordinate and own a high number of activities across a small team
