Summary: The SAP Product Costing Expert role is a contract position focused on SAP S/4 HANA implementations within the Life Science industry. The expert will be responsible for leading and managing offshore delivery teams while coordinating with onshore architects and client stakeholders. The position requires extensive experience in product costing and management accounting processes. Occasional travel to client sites in India is expected.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage offshore delivery teams for SAP S/4 HANA Product Costing implementations.
- Coordinate effectively with onshore architects and client stakeholders.
- Implement and manage product costing processes, including product cost planning and controlling.
- Conduct variance analysis and manage integration with other SAP modules.
- Provide expertise in legal and group valuation, transfer pricing, and overhead accounting.
Key Skills:
- 12–15 years of relevant experience in SAP S/4 HANA Product Costing.
- At least 2 end-to-end S/4 HANA Product Costing implementations.
- Strong command of SAP CO and S/4 HANA Management Accounting.
- Experience in CFIN System of Record is an advantage.
- Solid communication skills and ability to work independently.

Our client are a global SI and have won a major SAP Finance transformation in the Life Science industry. We need experts with the following experience:
- ~12–15 years of relevant experience plus domain experience
- At least 2 end-to-end S/4 HANA Product Costing implementations, ideally in complex, multientity global environments.
- Strong command of SAP CO and S/4 HANA Management Accounting: Product Cost Planning, Cost Object Controlling, CO-PA, Transfer Pricing, Parallel Valuations, & Intercompany processes
- Experience in CFIN System of Record will be an added advantage.
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing offshore delivery teams, with the ability to coordinate effectively with onshore architects and client stakeholders
In-depth understanding of:
- Legal and group valuation, transfer pricing, material ledger and overhead accounting
- Mult-level actual costing , revaluations, month-end steps.
- Variance analysis and COPA
- Integration with MM, PP, PM, SD
- Master data involved – BOM, routing/recipes, cost components, production versions
- S/4 HANA Management Accounting value proposition against ECC
- Cross-industry experience a strong advantage: Manufacturing, CPG, Pharma, Oil & Gas, or any sector where costing complexity and margin scrutiny are high
- Discrete and Process Industry experience
- Experience working across both Agile and Waterfall delivery models with strong delivery discipline and workstream management skills
- Solid communication skills: able to translate complex costing decisions into clear language for client finance teams and escalate issues with the right context
- Engineering or Finance degree background preferred; SAP S/4 HANA Management Accounting certification is a strong plus
- Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented, cross-geography environment
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and maintain delivery momentum with minimum supervision
